Town Departments

  1. Administration

    The Town of Purcellville Administration Department is responsible for implementing Town Council policies and providing support to staff in the delivery of our diverse services to our residents. This Department is responsible for overseeing daily operations, handling emergency issues and for planning and coordinating overall strategic management of the Town government operations. Staff of the Administration Department includes the Town Manager, Assistant Town Manager, Executive Assistant to the Town Manager and Town Clerk.

  2. Finance

    The Finance Department is composed of three divisions: Financial Services, Billing and Collection and Accounting. Financial Services establishes and maintains sound fiscal policies for the Town, including the annual budget, debt management, and procurement. Billing and Collection is responsible for billing and collection of user charges for water and sewer, taxes, and customer support services. Accounting is responsible for accounting functions and internal financial reporting, payroll, and accounts payable.

  3. Information Technology

    The Department of Information Technology (IT) is responsible for the purchase, installation, maintenance, and support of all computer and communications technology equipment and software throughout the Town. The Mission of IT is to ensure efficient departmental operations by providing computer hardware and software services to all Town departments and to identify technological solutions to improve operational efficiencies for staff and citizens.

  4. Planning and Zoning

    The Department of Community Development (Planning and Zoning) is charged with the protection and enhancement of the quality of Purcellville's natural and built environments. We accomplish this goal through comprehensive planning for the Town's future and through administration of Town development and zoning regulations.

  5. Police

    It is the Mission of the Purcellville Police Department to provide all residents and visitors within the Town of Purcellville the highest level of quality police service without regard to race, culture, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, age, gender or disability. To combat crime, apprehend criminals and ensure law and order within the town, so that law abiding residents and visitors can be assured safety and peace.   6. Public Works

    The Public Works Department is responsible for overseeing four divisions which include Streets/Maintenance, Capital Projects/Engineering, Water, and Wastewater. The Public Works Department is responsible for water resource development, treatment and distribution to residents and businesses; wastewater collection and treatment; improving and maintaining the Town’s streets and utility infrastructure; overseeing capital projects; and stormwater management.
